Search doesn't show expected results

Searching seems to face some problem… I noticed since a couple of days that the Search function doesn’t return (complete) results. First I thought I may still havea Filter active, but even after clearing the filters and entering my search again, I get the same result.

I wanted to see which Chevrolet Tahoe models of the brand 596Model I already added to the database, but the search returns only 1 record. But as you can see, this model has 11 variants. Why are they not showing up?

Also, when I search for 596Model + California I get no result, although there are records which should get returned…

When I search for just 596Model I get only 4 records…

This happens in both the app and the internet version.

The problem seems to be related to this specific model car brand.

Thanks for looking into.

Wrote 596 california and I can see a bit more than 4

It seems that the Keywords for these items are not correct (it searching for keywords like Tahoe). I fixed 5 by hand and will ask our dev why this did not work automatically.

In the meantime I have found that this problem (that 596 Model Tahoe models did not show up when searching), was due to some changes made by @TOYCARGEEK… 2 models had been added by myself as Tahoes, but they should have been entered as Suburbans… I had incorrectly added them to the Tahoe variant group, which now consisted of 8 items. I had set “Model of” relationships to “Chevrolet Tahoe (GMTK2XX, 2014–2020)” for all 8 items.

TOYCARGEEK had correctly renamed the 2 models in question from Tahoe to Suburban, but did not unvariant them from the Tahoe group, did not create a new Suburban variant group for them, nor did he remove the Relationships to the Tahoe GMTK2XX, 2014–2020.

The result seemed to be that the Search function thought that the entire Tahoe variant group was Suburban instead of Tahoe… but why….?? Should be looked into further.

After having fixed these 2 Suburban items, and I now search for 596 Model Tahoe, all expected Tahoe models are shown again… Mysterious…

My sincere apologies for not having done this correctly. I don’t know why I failed to address the variant situation, but I will certainly be more careful in the future. I hope it did not take too much of your time to correct my botched “correction”. Many thanks for all you do!

Not sure and added to the queue. We generally only start working on it when we get repeats (as this is now fixed it is hard to know how it happened). I mark this as fixed for now.

Thanks to @TOYCARGEEK to help (he is a great retailer of diecast greatness and please buy his cars if you see them here on hobbyDB as links on database items).
