Wish List Management - Lists and Priorities

The biggest feature that I am currently wishing for is the ability to organize my wish list into different subcategories.

Personally, I have “must have” items, “nice to have” items, “maybe” items, “thinking about it” items, “unlikely, but you never know” items – and I could go on… My problem now is that it can become quite cluttered. Also, I’m hesitant to send someone my wishlist because it has a lot of “maybe” or “thinking about it” items.

In the pre-premium days, I just had different accounts for each wish list, but that’s not feasible now.

My preferences would be to support different lists, just like in collections – in the Showcase view, your wish list would behave just like your collection where you would see your custom lists in the row below. In Management view, there would be a new column for lists and you could filter, etc.

Another complimentary idea would be to give a numerical score to items in your wish list (like a number out of 100) so you could sort the items and indicate their priority.

Interesting. We have the lists planned and will have to think about your proposed priorities.

I like this idea. I would only change the numerical score to a simple 3 or 5(at most) choice scale – something like “Interested / Piqued / Drool-worthy”.

Just knowing that adding lists to wishlists is on the horizon makes me very happy – 5 is probably enough gradation for this … and I think it’s common for other online wishlists to have ~5 levels – I was just thinking that pragmatically, it’s probably the same amount of work to code 5 or 100.

I will say this – I currently have “Something on your Wish List has just come up for sale on the Market” unchecked – but if you had an option for – “something on my wish list that’s a priority >=4 has just come up for sale”… that I’d probably turn on.
