App does not allow me to add/modify

The app no longer allows me to add or modify items. Instead, it only shows the ‘Something missing?’ link.

That is generally when your session is not synced between app and website. Try these

  • Log out and in again
  • Clear cache (some help here)
  • Delete and download the app (we just released Version 5.2.8, so you can also upgrade if you are on an older version)

Let us know if that works.

I tend to get this after the app is updated. I have to delete the app from my phone and download it again to fix it.

Nope. Still having same issue. App is most recent version 5.2.8.

@Umer-Nazir-01 Got ideas what members can do besides the above when they do not have the correct permissions when logging into the app using hobbyDB?

for android can you please go to the app settings and clear the app data and login again ?

This now happens to me about once every 2 weeks. Only way to fix it for me is delete the app and reinstall. After that it works beautifully!

Yes, same issue here. It seems to happen after an upgrade of the app, after which the Curator etc roles are not recognized anymore and the app thinks you are a normal user (so it allows to add an item to your collection, but nothing more). Only solution indeed is to delete and re-install the app.

This has been happening to me for weeks. It’s annoying as you know what. Deleted the app, re-installed and signed back in. No change.

Yes, that is annoying, sorry for that. What device do you use? It would be great to fix whatever causes this problem.

I’m using an iPhone with the latest updates.

Still can’t do anything. Been about six weeks now. It’s beyond ridiculous. Deleted the app and re-installed just before coming here and still no change. :man_shrugging:t2:

I logged in as you, @Aussie_Poppers (will email you as well) and the app works. This is somehow a local issue with sessions being out of sync and we do not know why this happens.

To clear the cache on your iPhone, you can clear the cache for individual apps. You should be able to go to Settings > hobbyDB] and look for a “Clear Cache” option within the app’s settings, or offload the app in Settings > General > iPhone Storage and then reinstall it if there’s no in-app option.

Please let me know as this is a real pain for all and would be good to get that cleared up (as we like to continue adding improvements to the app through new releases).

Changing the PW seems to have fixed the last problem we had here.

Probably 1 or max 2 weeks ago I changed my password. Today I removed the Cache for the app. I have logged out and back in and still get the “Something Missing?” message… Don’t want to change my PW each week or so…
I will stop using the app until the next release. I will just use the internet browser based HobbyDB.
Collectible Guide | hobbyDB, which works just as well on a mobile.

We hope that a new release will come this week or next that should solve this issue.
